The Wix service is annual and includes renewing the domain every year… If the hosting service goes away – the domain management does too so we need to transfer the domain name to a new registrar for it to continue to work. We need to do this first and its best if we do it sooner rather than later. Transferring to a new REGISTRAR usually requires at least one year of domain renewal (about $25 to $35 a year) but that is ok because its expiring anyways.
How the move would work with any new host…
- We have to transfer HawaiiCounselingandEducationCenter.com to a new registrar if you want to end the Wix hosting Service – the premium web hosting plan expires March 16 but the domain name expires March 10.
- FIRST — We would request a transfer code from WIX – once we get that…
- I would then initiate the transfer to the new host at Green Geeks and we wait for that to go through.. They say it can take up to 72 hours but i have seen it happen in 6-12 frequently…
- Though it takes a little while to complete, in the mean time we would set up the new website account and make the edits to point the email over to HipaaVault the second its done… We would also point the website portion over to the at the HCECHawaii.com website
- We would also point HCECHawaii.com at HipaaVault at this point too…
